Every cloud has a purple lining

Rain is good for gardens, we know this, but spectacular irises aren’t that keen. They flower, we are just about to go ‘ooooh’ at their awesomeness, and then a passing cumulonimbus turns them to mush. So what, you say, this is an art blog – well, poking at its floral remains, I realised its purple loveliness had turned into a sort of ink in the rain. Ink… natural ink… it would’ve been rude not to…
